Happy Tuesday everyone!

It feels like forever since I posted on my blog (cough, cough Lindsay, it’s been at least a month). Whoops!

Regardless, I’m back. With the website launch wrapping up and new nutrition programs up and running, I finally have a chance to catch my breath. I’ve set up shop for the day at one of my favourite coffee shops and am determined to write my first blog post to kickstart the slew of them that are to follow.

I’ve dreamt of starting a blog for years. Yes, years – I was the girl in high school sitting back in her chair dreaming about what my one-day website would look like. Call me a dreamer, but it’s hard to believe that a project that I have been designing in my head for years, is now in the works!

Someone pinch me. But don’t – I bruise far too easily. #gingerproblems


So what better way to kick off my blog than sharing one of my favorite recipes?

I’ve loved almost every green smoothie that’s ever been served to me. The only two I’ve rejected were made with chalky vegan protein powder that I couldn’t choke down. Yup. Tasty right?

This smoothie is different. It’s creamy, refreshing and naturally sweetened with banana instead of fruit juices or purees that are found in grocery store smoothies.

  • An easy way to sneak in some greens
  • Great on-the-go breakfast or snack
  • They’re hydrating – you can easily sneak in 2+ cups of liquids in this baby!

Alright, I won’t make you guys wait much longer. Feel free to get creative and add a few superfoods if you like – try subbing out the banana for berries, spinach for kale or romaine, hemp seed butter for almond. The options are endless, but this Green Goodness Smoothie is my favorite basic green smoothie to convert even the pickiest eaters!


Green Goodness Smoothie Recipe

Serving: 1 // Prep Time: 2 mins

INGREDIENTS

  • 1⁄2 banana, frozen
  • 1⁄4 avocado
  • 1 large handful spinach
  • 1 scoop protein powder of choice
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1⁄2 cup water
  •  1 cup ice

OPTIONAL

  • Maca or Moringa Powder
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Stevia (for additional sweetness)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Add all of the ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth
  2. Enjoy!
